Bakersfield Police officers got up bright and early to mingle among the fresh fruit and veggies at a local farmers market Sunday morning. It was all part of the Coffee with a Cop event at the Haggin Oaks Farmer’s Market.
Yesterday, we formally launched Coffee with a Cop in the Whitsundays.
Sioux Falls police usually host events like this called “Coffee with a Cop,” where the public can get a free coffee and talk with officers. But they switched it up on Thursday with an ice cream cone.
It was a sunny day with kids playing in the splash pad and getting stickers, pop and popsicles. North Platte Police Chief Daniel Hudson said it is always good to get out and interact with the community away from the sirens. “It is refreshing for officers to meet the community in this type of setting,” Hudson said.
Kids were able to have a pop or a popsicle with a cop Wednesday afternoon. The North Platte Police Department, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and the Nebraska State Patrol had representatives at the event. The objective is to connect more with kids in the community and let them know that law enforcement is there to protect them.
By now we’re sure you’ve heard of Coffee with a Cop, where members of the community mingle with members of the Queensland Police Service and ask any questions or raise any concerns they may have over a coffee. On July 2, it was the kids turn to ask questions and our first kids Coffee (Milkshake) with a Cop was held at Taigum Shopping Centre and met with great enthusiasm by around 30 kids who had lots of questions for their local police officer, Acting Senior Constable Mark Aichholzer.
Truck drivers travelling along the Hume Highway today stopped by Marulan BP Southbound to join the ATA and officers from NSW Police for “Coffee with a Cop” – an initiative that aims to break down barriers, chat about current issues and discuss ways to work together, all over a free coffee thanks to ATA Foundation Sponsor BP.
Officers from the Chifley Police District came together with members of the community to discuss issues, build relationships and drink coffee on Thursday, July 4.
The Summit Police spent some time with residents and business owners on Tuesday at the Batavia Cafe as part of their Coffee with a Cop event. Coffee, pastry and conversation was served up and the Summit Police posted their gratitude on social media.
Kelly and Jess from Lower Lake were on their way to Mendocino to go fishing in the ocean and do a bit of surfing. “We stopped for a coffee break,” said Jess, who didn’t want to share his last name. “Didn’t knowing we were walking into a coffee shop full of cops,” he said laughing. “So far so good.”
