Tuesday morning people filled Boneshaker Coffee Co. for a free cup of Joe and the chance to sit down and speak with members of law enforcement.
“Coffee with a Cop” is the name of the outreach program, which was started to establish community relations between the Bismarck Police Department and city residents.
Officer Clint Fuller says it’s a time for people to meet in a casual setting and address their concerns with law enforcement in a non-confrontational way.
“We’re part of the community. We live here, play here, work here, too. So, we’re concerned about what’s going on in the community,” said Fuller.
Fuller says many times people have questions, but it’s not practical for them to call the station.
He says these events are beneficial because they give the public an opportunity to speak face to face with police.
Fuller says the next event will be held around May.
