Aberdeen residents and police officers gathered Thursday morning to tackle community issues, all while enjoying a “cup of joe.” A group filled the Kimmel Bakery in Aberdeen for the towns second Coffee with a Cop.
New Bern Police share free coffee with citizens
“We’ve actually had some pretty positive interactions from people in the community,” said New Bern Police Department, Sgt. Shelton Brown, “They have come out and voiced some of their concerns and actually got some feedback on concerns they had voiced in the previous month and told us how appreciative they were when we addressed those concerns for them.”

45th’s Coffee with a Cop receives community praise
On the evening of Wednesday, January 24, the council held its first ‘Coffee With A Cop’ event at the Miles Coffee Bar on East Tremont Avenue. From girlscout troop leaders to businessmen and women, local volunteers, and everyday residents of the neighborhood, the coffee shop soon filled to max capacity with barely any room to walk around.

Police from Hervey Bay and the Crime Prevention Unit attended Zaraffas coffee shop on Thursday this week for the first of their Coffee with a Cop for 2018. Whilst the numbers were down from previous coffee with a cop events, this time two of the patrons were in fact New South Wales police officers.
Outreach is joint effort for local and federal cops
El Zarape was noisy and packed on Wednesday morning. Every one of the Nogales restaurant’s tables was surrounded by diners laughing and chatting over the first meal of the day, including a row of tables in the center of the room filled with uniformed law enforcement personnel sitting side-by-side with civilians.
Dozens turnout for Coffee with a Cop at Our Daily Bread
Coffee with a Cop was held at Our Daily Bread soup kitchen and the turnout was more than they anticipated. Residents took time to share their concerns about what is happening in their neighborhoods. Anything from traffic to the amount of officers out on patrol were on the list. Those attending say they were thankful officers cared enough to sit down with them and that as citizens they also have a responsibility to talk with the officers.
Nogales station holds “Coffee with a Cop” event
In an effort to encourage communication between agents and community, the Nogales Border Patrol Station and Nogales Police Department co-hosted a “Coffee with a Cop” event. Members of the community were invited to join cops and agents at El Zarape restaurant in Nogales.
Gulfport Police enjoy coffee, donuts with community
Conversation and donuts – it was a winning combination Wednesday morning during the Gulfport police ‘Donut with a Cop’ event. The coffee was hot and the donuts fresh, all in an effort by the police department to get the conversation brewing.
