Cops Promise Seniors Some TLC

Thirty residents gathered around tables for two hours as the officers roamed around the room, warmly and attentively greeting each person and bringing them coffee and doughnuts from a side kitchen. Each cup was served in souvenir New Haven Police Department mugs.

Lima Police hold Coffee with a Cop event

The Lima and Elida Police Departments, as well as the Marion Township Police Department, were out at the West St. McDonald’s sharing coffee and some conversation with the people in the area. Lt. Andy Green says more often than not, people interact with police officers in passing or while they are on the job, and this gives them a chance to actually get to know the people patrolling in their neighborhood.

This week, Thursday Island Police launched ‘Coffee with a Cop’ at Ma:Kai Café on the waterfront. ‘Coffee with a Cop’ is as simple as it sounds: come along and share a coffee and a chat.

Capt. Joseph Trumbetti said that he likes the fact that Coffee with a Cop gives residents a chance to ask the police questions and get advice and updates on issues, such as road repairs and home and vehicle security.

National Donut Day 2019 at Sugar Twist

June 7th marks National Donut Day! To celebrate, Sugar Twist Bakery’s Brimhall road location hosted a day full of activities, beginning with ‘Coffee with a Cop,’ where officers of the Bakersfield Police Department spent the morning with donut lovers and small children.
