The Coffee with a Cop event, hosted by Rosemont McDonald’s, on Tuesday, October 23, at 6150 N. River Rd., which aimed to bring the community together did just that by serving up coffee to customers.

Dennis Stabile, Owner — Operator, of the Rosemont-based McDonald’s franchise, said that taking part in such community-building events help to bridge relationships between residents and the local police force. Stabile says events like these are a great opportunity for residents to come and ask questions.

Chief District Superintendent of Public Safety, Donald E. Stephens III, and Sergeants Carillo, and Balogh, Lieutenants Alvardo, Richmond, Rivera, Fiorito and Carvatti, and Officer Dave Latoria of the Rosemont Police Department, attended the event to personally meet and greet those in attendance. Lieutenant Rivera shared that the Rosemont McDonald’s was his first job in 1994 when he was a student at Leyden. Rivera really enjoyed being behind the counter at McDonald’s again where he enjoyed his best first job.

“We are proud of the role we have maintained in Rosemont since 1993, and we are happy to see the community and the local police department enjoying coffee and conversation together. This is how great relationships are formed.” Stabile said.

“We are grateful to Sergeant Balogh, who contributed to the coordination of the Coffee with A Cop event, and to all the officers who came to the event, helped serve hot McDonald’s McCafe Coffee, took pictures with the community members, and met many great people from the Rosemont community. ”
