On Sunday December 9, police from Calamvale Station, Centenary Crime Prevention Unit and Volunteers in Policing (VIPs) joined the local Councillor Angela Owen to come together as a community in an informal setting to discuss local crime issues.
This Coffee with a Cop was organized by local Councillor, Angela Owen and police were impressed with the great turn out from the community. The event gave locals the opportunity to ask questions and voice their concerns in relation to local crime in their area.
We were also joined by the wonderful Volunteers from Zi Zai Dong Zen assocation who conducted 15 minute energy healing and health and well being sessions for the local community.
The event also gave the locals the opportunity to show interest in re-establishing the Calamvale 4 Neighbourhood Watch Group in the Calamvale Area.
A large show of hands indicated huge interest and the process to re-establish is already underway.
Police and Volunteers in Policing (VIPs) were also able to provide the local community with one way anti-theft screws for their number plates.
The one way screws make it difficult for thieves to steal registration plates from you vehicle.
Thank you to all the local Calamvale community who showed such enthusiasm to begin the Neighbourhood Watch Group again.
We look forward to working together in the future with Neighbourhood watch to keep you safe and help to educate you on crime prevention techniques.
