At One23 Cafe and Restaurant yesterday for the Coffee With a Cop initiative were, back, plain clothes Senior Constable Trevor Robinson, Detective Senior Constable Jason Dickinson, Senior Constable Ajarna Imrie, Constable John Stuart (Bellata), front, local residents Ken Thomson, Boyce Alexander, Narrabri Shire Mayor Cathy Redding and Darcy Harris, Inspector Robert Dunn, Sergeant Daniel Cooper, Constable Tania Willis and Leading Senior Constable Lee Rigelsford (Boggabri).Narrabri Shire residents took the opportunity on Tuesday to raise with local police any crime issues they might have.

They were treated to a free cup of coffee into the bargain at One23 Cafe and Restaurant, part of the Coffee With a Cop initiative.

It is the second year of the event, and there have been significant changes to local policing since the same time last year, including the transfer of Narrabri Shire into a police district based in Tamworth, rather than Moree.

Inspector Robert Dunn, the officer in charge of police in the region, said police were pleased to be able to interact with the community in a more informal and social setting than usual.

“I think those who took part had their questions answered,” he said.
