Sydney’s dancing cop shows off her moves

Video of a police officer joining members of her local community for a dance in the middle of a Sydney shopping mall has gone viral .

At a Coffee with a Cop event in Fairfield the officer joins several other women to show off her moves in the middle of a growing crowd.

The video quickly went viral, clocking up more than 230,000 views in 48 hours.

“It just shows our wonderful cops are human, good on all our police force they do a wonderful job, where would we be without them,” one woman wrote.

“What a great sport the police officer is. Well done, that really is getting involved with your community,” a man added.

Others slammed the officer, telling her to “get back to work”.

But NSW Police Force were quick to respond.

“Community engagement is an important part of police work,” they wrote.

“In the words of Fairfield Police Area Command Commander, Superintendent Peter Lennon: ‘We, the police, are part of the community. We work here, we live here, we shop here, our children go to school here. The safety of the community is a shared goal and we want to work towards it together’.”
