Students at Texas A&M got a chance to meet and greet with campus police officers over a cup of coffee Tuesday morning at “Coffee with a Cop”.

Texas A&M officers discussed issues facing the university and building relationships with the students with coffee and pastries.

“We just like to let them know that we are here for them,” said officer Kristi Hosea.

Students got to meet with the campus police at the Respect Lounge in the Memorial Student Center while heading to class.

“Letting them know that we are here for them and to get their opinions on whats going on around campus is very important,” said Hosea.

Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative many local departments participate in. It’s supported by the U.S. Department of Justice.
