The Sparta Library hosted Coffee with a Cop last week. About 20 community members took advantage of the opportunity to chat with Sparta police officers over a cup of coffee, some cookies and yes, donuts too.
Sparta Police Chief Neil Spidaletto said when Library Director David Costa learned about the National Coffee with a Cop day, reached out to him and offered to have the event at the library.
The students at Circle of Friends preschool that calls the library home, came upstairs to meet the officers. They all got sticker badges and police hats and cookies for later.
Other children who visited sat at a craft table and made their own police hats.
“Thanks to Sparta Library for hosting our first Coffee with a Cop, and thank you to all that came to enjoy the delicious Cloveberry Coffee and great conversation,” Spidaletto said. “We had a great turn out and certainly will be continuing this tradition for many years to come”
