Sn Constable Dave Feeney said the Coffee with a Cop event was an informal get together aimed at strengthening ties between the police and community.
“Our Blue Light events and school award presentations target the younger members of our community and the coffee events help us to connect with the adults,” he said.
Along with the local boys in blue, Manning Great Lakes Police District Chief Inspector Tony Power and Youth Liaison Officer Sn Constable David Russell also took the opportunity to mingle with the crowd.
With the police shouting the coffees, locals spent the morning enjoying conversations with the officers and each other.
“It was nice to meet the police and it is good for the community to see them as ordinary people,” resident Kaysey Carter said.
“They are just like everyone else, except they have a uniform.”
Sn Constable Feeney said he made the move to Bulahdelah with his family three years ago.
“It was the best decision we ever made,” he said.
“We love the community and the friendly, relaxed lifestyle, it’s a great place to be.”
If you missed Coffee with a Cop last week, Sn Constable Feeney said you don’t need to wait until the next one to catch up for a chat.
“You can talk to us at any time,” he said.
