Cleona Borough Police Chief Jeff Farneski and Sgt. Matthew Rager chat with Gary Berkhimer the general manager of G.F. Bowman’s in Cleona, at Schwalm’s Restaurant in Cleona the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017 during Coffee with a Cop. “I liked it,” Berkhimer said. “It was a great opportunity to get out and meet the local force and thank them for what they do.” Farneski brought the national event to Cleona to extend their community relations over the winter. “We’re hoping to do this once a month over the winter months,” Farneski said. “We have the bicycle rodeo and National Night Out and were looking to add something else.” Farneski, who just completed his first year as Cleona Borough’s police chief said he’s happy with how things are going. “The community has treated me very well,” he said and he’s looking forward to continue events like Coffee with a Cop. “The goal is to sit down and just talk with people and make friends,” Farneski said. “It’ll help us become more approachable. Farneski also added Schwalm’s has been a great place to hold the event.
