As part of last weeks orientation week activities, the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Justice Society organised a QPS Coffee with a Cop event for their incoming student faculty.

Students studying Justice and Law at QUT use this as stepping stone to a possible career within the Queensland Police Service (QPS) so it was great to spend some time with the students during their O week celebrations.

Coffee with a Cop is great opportunity for the justice students to interact with members of the QPS and learn more about potential careers.

The students were very eager to learn about everyday policing within the service and were surprised to learn of the diversity and number of roles within the QPS.

The students asked a variety of questions ranging from current topical issues and the evolving nature of policing over the years – it’s safe to say we are looking forward to having such vibrant and energetic young people to bring their ideas to the QPS in the future!

Thank you to Camryn Pascoe (Treasurer Justice Society) for organising the event – we can’t wait to come back for mid year O week.
