Get coffee with a cop at Caribou Coffee

The Bismarck Police Department is hosting “Coffee with a Cop.”

According to a news release, the get-together is happening on March 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Caribou Coffee, 601 South 3rd Street.

“Coffee with a Cop” is when community members and officers meet in an informal atmosphere to talk about community issues, build relationships, and enjoy a cup of coffee.

It also provides the chance to ask questions and learn more about the work the department does in neighborhoods.

The majority of the time, interaction with law enforcement happens during emergencies or emotional situations, which are not the best times to build a relationship and often make people feel as though officers are unapproachable.

However, this event aims to break those barriers and allows for a relaxed one-on-one interaction.
