Some Eau Claire seniors shared coffee and conversation with Eau Claire police on Tuesday morning.

Coffee with a Cop is a national campaign working to break down barriers between police and the citizens they serve.

Tuesday, the L.E. Phillips Senior Center hosted the event for the first time.

Officer Bridget Coit said while most of the morning was spent sharing coffee, cake and stories, there were some questions everyone was asking.

“We had a lot of questions regarding some traffic issues, one specifically about the roundabouts that are coming in on State Street and how those will operate,” Coit said. “Really, just general questions about our police department, how many officers, and who is protecting our cities.”

L.E. Phillips Senior Center officials say they are planning to get officers back at the center soon.
