Coffee with Cops at 33rd and “O” St. Starbucks

Lincoln Police met patrons at Starbucks to have conversations and share the warm love for the community.

“When somebody comes in and they don’t wanna talk with the officer and before they leave they are giving the officer a high-five and everything, it just makes you very very proud of the work that we’re doing,” said LPD Captain Don Scheinost.

Conversations ranged from weather to crime trends, and anything in between. Positive relationships between the community and LPD is key.

“We’re here to help and you shouldn’t be afraid to walk up to a police officer and talk with them about things that may be concerning to you and your neighborhood. We also wanna just be able to help people understand that we’re people too,” said Scheinost.

If you are interested in a conversation with a Lincoln Police Officer, Coffee with a Cop will be hopping around various Starbucks locations over the next couple of weeks.
