November’s Coffee with a Cop meeting was held on Tuesday morning in the cafeteria at Forrest General Hospital.
City officials and police were on hand to visit with residents from the area. The event is held to allow folks an opportunity to meet the men and women behind the badges.
This is the second year the Hattiesburg police have been holding the Coffee with a Cop program.
Hattiesburg Police Chief Anthony Parker said it’s an important tool to help involve the public with keeping their communities safe.
“Anytime we can do something for the public and connect with them is a good thing,” Parker said “The community are our eyes and ears and they’re the ones that help us do our jobs, so anytime we can connect with them and talk to them is always a good thing.”
Next month’s Coffee with a Cop will be held at T-Bone’s on Hardy Street on December 12, 2017.
