Coffee With a Cop continues to build relationships between police, community

Police in Sioux Falls continued their outreach program Coffee With a Cop Saturday afternoon.

They sat down with dozens of people at Black Sheep Coffee, hoping to build relationships and an understanding with the people they serve in Sioux Falls.

“So sitting down here with some of the members of this community out here and getting to talk to them, and just be normal people for a day rather than me the police officer and them the citizen,” officer Brady Lieuwen said.

Patrol officers said often times people may not understand what police do everyday and some of the protocols they have to follow.

They said these personal interactions with people help bridge some of those gaps and help both parties understand each other a little better.
