Soul Food was busy on Thursday morning when community members gathered for Narromine’s first “Coffee with a Cop”.
The initiative, started by Orana Local Area Command’s Inspector Dan Skelly, has been a success in Dubbo this year and has brought it west. Inspector Skelly said there was a great turn out.
“We’ve received information about possible criminals and we’ve spoken about what we do,” he said.
Inspector Skelly said it’s not often police meet people who are not involved in crimes.
“Most people we meet have done something wrong, this way we get to know the good people, the people who contribute to the community,” he said.
Local Helen Croker said she spoke to the police about logistics.
“I asked how many are at the station at a different time and what’s the best way to get onto the police call the station or triple zero,” she said.
