Police from South Brisbane hosted another Coffee with a Cop event in Southbank this week.
Police took the opportunity to engage with the growing cycling community, to strengthen relationships, and gain feedback on how relationships between bike riders and other road users could be improved.
Proudly supported by 99 Bikes and the popular Garage Espresso, bike riders engaged with police with free coffee in hand.
Senior Sergeant Wayne Richter said the morning was a great success.
“Local riders are really grateful for police taking an interest in their safety, and for changes made to local infrastructure to separate riders from other road users,” Senior Sergeant Richter said.
“But everyone agrees that with a little patience, and some mutual respect for all road users, things will continue to improve.”
The crew were also joined by Inspector Tony Ridge, who enjoyed engaging with local bike riders, and is a driving force behind promoting continued improvements in road safety, during Queensland Road Safety Week.
