Barcaldine Police targeted driver fatigue today, encouraging passing motorists, tourists and locals alike to enjoy Coffee with a Cop.
The aim of the event was to encourage travellers from out of town to stop and break up their trip and reduce the risk of fatigue related traffic crashes.
It was also an opportunity to bring police and the community members they serve together over a coffee, to discuss issues and learn more about each other.
Sergeant Matt Hows, Senior Constable Natalie Timar and Senior Constable Sean Lynham with the help of Admin Officer Carol Gribble enjoyed a coffee and tea with people from all walks of life.
Travellers from interstate are still passing through the Central West so it was fantastic to break up their trip with a coffee and hear about their travels and experiences.
Police spoke with Barcaldine residents about local issues and upcoming activities, maintaining their good relationship with the local community.
Police provided information on driver fatigue, speeding, driver distraction and bicycle safety.
Barcaldine Police would like to thank everyone who came along and took the opportunity to join them in putting road safety first.
