This morning, August 29, police from Fortitude Valley Station hosted Coffee with a Cop at New Farm Park.

Coffee with a Cop gives officers the opportunity to engage with their local community members and provide valuable crime prevention advice as well as information on current campaigns.

This mornings Coffee with a Cop was focused on Queensland Road Safety Week which runs from August 27, through until August 31. During Road Safety Week, each day hones in on the different road user groups from motorists right through to pedestrians and cyclists and everyone is encouraged to speak up for road safety.

Police from Fortitude Valley had a great time engaging with their local community this morning at New Farm Park and look forward to hosting their next Coffee with a Cop event.

Following the Road Safety Week theme, officers even brought along their ATV which the kids had a great time playing with. Officers even let the kids sit up in the drivers seat and flick on the sirens and lights, which was met with many screams of delight. We’re sure that police identified some potential future recruits out of the kids who were given junior constable badges today.

We look forward to seeing you at the next Coffee with a Cop event!
