A cuppa with new garda recruits

The ‘Coffee with a Cop’ event held in the Grand Hotel offered the perfect opportunity for Wicklow’s five new recruits to introduce themselves to members of the community.

The gathering was mainly organised for local people who would rarely have dealings with An Garda Síochána, as well as elderly folk who may have their own security concerns.

A special emphasis was placed on home security, especially with the festive season fast approaching. Gardai were also on hand to ask any questions put to them.

However, the main purpose was to afford residents of Wicklow town an opportunity to meet with and share a chat some of the community-minded Gardai based in Wicklow town.

Over 30 people attended in all.
