National Coffee with a Cop Day

On Friday October 7th, members of the Tampa Police Department will sit down and chat with the community over a cup of coffee. “Coffee with a Cop Day” is a national initiative supported by The United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. The concept goes hand in hand with the Tampa Police Department’s ongoing “Community Conversations”. With no agenda and no speeches, both “Coffee with a Cop Day” and “Community Conversations” allow for a casual atmosphere where the citizens and the officers who serve them get to know each other on a more personal level. “Coffee with a Cop Day” is an opportunity for community residents to sit down with officers and ask questions or share what is on their mind. Citizens and police officers also discover mutual goals for the communities they live in and serve.
