On Queensland Road Safety Week’s second day, Tuesday, August 27, our Bayside Road Policing Unit, local police from Redland Bay Station and Bayside Crime Prevention Unit enjoyed a cuppa with our local residents at Mrs Jones Kitchen, Supa IGA store, Mt Cotton.

Local residents were also joined by our Police Liaison Officers, Volunteers in Policing (ViPs) and volunteers from Crime Stoppers.

Our key goal and message was to raise awareness about putting road safety first when using our roads.

Police continue to remind drivers and passengers to always wear their seat belts, use correct restraints for your children, stick to the speed limit and follow road rules.

Police also encourage drivers to refresh on their road rules every year, if possible.

If you missed your chance to speak to our officers this time, our next Coffee with a Cop event is at Donut King, Wynnum Plaza this Thursday, August 29.

Officers will be there between 9.30am and 11.30am. We hope to see you there!
