Central West Police District officers from Parkes Police Station enjoyed coffee and conversation with locals on Monday morning at the Coffee with a Copinitiative.
Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the Police work in Parkes and the Central West Police District.
Despite the very chilly day, community members turned up to the informal, neutral space to have a chat and a cuppa on the NSW Police Force.
Officer In Charge of Parkes Police, Chief Inspector David Cooper, said Coffee with a Cop is a valuable tool in community engagement.
“I hope that our community feel comfortable talking to the Police about whatever issues they like – be they good or bad,” he said.
“Whilst the cold weather was not conducive to chatting, those who took the time to come and say hello hopefully took away a positive experience.
“As the Officer In Charge of Parkes Police I will continue to engage with the community and encourage people to come and say hello next time we set up our monthly meeting in Clarinda Street.”
