Springwood Police and Logan City Council were in Rochedale South on Friday, speaking with the community about crime reduction initiatives.

Constable Mike McDonald and Councillor Lisa Bradley enjoyed answering questions and listening to concerns raised by the locals and business owners at the Coffee with a Cop, held at The Deli Café.

Constable Mike said that events like this are important for keeping in touch with the concerns and expectations of our community.

The Springwood Volunteers in Police were kept busy with people lining up to have their number plate screws replaced with one-way screws.

The Turning the Screws on Crime project is a free service available to everyone, and is one of our initiatives to reduce the theft of number plates, thereby making it harder for criminals to avoid detection.

The next Turning the Screws on Crime event will be held at the Springwood Lions Club on April 9, 2019 between 9am and midday.

On Saturday, despite the rain, Underwood Park Run had a strong showing of enthusiastic runners and walkers.

Springwood police and the Logan City Council Community Safety Team were on hand in the Mobile Police Facility to listen to community concerns, and encouraging people to report suspicious and anti-social behaviours to police.

Constable Mike from the Rochedale South Police Beat received a few questions about how to make a report to police.
