Trenton McDonalds honors community service at Coffee with a Cop

Unsung heroes gained popularity yesterday as McDonald’s owners Freddie and Rosa Rosada honored local law enforcement, security and a firefighter.
Police Det. Michael Schiaretti, Ofc. Christopher Munn, Firefighter Naseeb Washington, Mercer County Sheriff Ofc. Pat Papero and Alphonzo Harrell of Capital City Protection Services were named as “Coffee With a Cop Community Service Award” honorees.
A two-hour celebration produced a crowded dining room as award recipients mingled with Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora, the Rosados and community members.
The Rosados’ McDonald’s located at Hamilton Ave. and Chambers St., continued an initiativ
Rosa Rosado implored Trenton residents to make a difference.
“Just do something to have a positive impact. It’s easy to complain,” Rosado offered.
“People have power. Even if they just grab a broom and sweep in front of their homes; or volunteer somewhere. We need everyone to do whatever they can.”

“We promised to make a difference in this community. We could never be a business that only made money. We want to offer jobs, support and have a positive impact on this neighborhood,” Rosa Rosado explained.
Fred Rosado referenced the awardees as “unsung heroes”, a description accepted by Washington.
“That would be okay. Firefighters, police and other public servants do what we do not looking for accolades. We do our jobs,” Washington, a six-year veteran explained.
“This is surprising. Mr. Freddie caught me off guard with the announcement. I wasn’t expecting anything like this. I just love my job and love helping out in the community.”
