On Saturday, March 9, South Brisbane police engaged with community members at the Coffee with a Cop event at Sunnybank McDonald’s.
Throughout the event police had the opportunity to speak with members of our diverse community and engage in some meaningful conversations with couples, families, migrants and international students.
The theme of the event was to discuss domestic and family violence and offer support for those affected and educate other members of the community with resources.
This operation has continuously shown great presence from various levels of QPS members, including local operational uniform, Sunnybank Police Beat, Vulnerable Persons Unit, District Crime Prevention Unit and Police Liaison Officers, as well as local government representatives.
Attending the event was Dee Lim, a Chinese speaking social worker from Relationship Australia Queensland, who said that this initiative is great for the South Brisbane community and looks forward to working together in May for Family Violence Prevention Month.
Sunnybank McDonald’s Manager Donna Mills also welcomed officers and community members throughout the event and said she looks forward to hosting the next event in May.
If you can’t wait please make your way to our last Operation Wake up Domestic Violence Coffee with a Cop event at Cannon Hill McDonald’s at 1006 Wynnum Road, between 9:30am and 11:30am on March 14, 2019.
