On Tuesday, February 5, we hosted another great Coffee with a Cop event at Vintage Apron Cafe, Capalaba for Safer Internet Day 2019.

Not only was our entire collection of cyber safety information gobbled up and taken away by members of the community, but it was also the first time the Australian Federal Police (AFP) came along for the ride.

It could be said that they heard about the great coffee available and everyone knows that whether one is a State or Federal police officer, travelling for fine coffee is not a big ask.

AFP Leading Senior Constable Claire Arnold from the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team attended bringing with her a wealth of experience and knowledge.

Officers from Capalaba Police, Capalaba Police Beat and of course us here at Bayside District Crime Prevention (DCPC) along with our Volunteers in Police (ViPs) and Crime Stoppers did our usual engagement with anyone wanting a chat.

As can be seen in the below photos, community members were engaged with officers and spoke about internet safety for themselves and their children.

One of the best products out there is an AFP cyber safety presentation called ThinkuKnow.

This really is a fantastic presentation suitable for adults and kids of all ages.

If any schools or community groups are interested in the ThinkUKnow presentation, please email Bayside DCPC on DCPC.Wynnum@police.qld.gov.au
