The food was hot and the conversation was good as relationships were being built in Lima this morning.

As part of the Lima Police Department’s Community-Oriented Policing program, their Coffee with a Cop was held at Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen. Along with a hot meal, people in attendance also got to pick out hats, gloves, blankets, and even a stuffed animal for the kids. Lima Mayor David Berger even attended the event getting a bite and talking with residents.

“This is a great place for the police department and others to be present to be reaching out to the community, getting to know folks, and engaging in conversations. Community policing is about forming relationships and that’s what this is today,” said Mayor David Berger.

This was the second Coffee with a Cop at Our Daily Bread and they look forward to many more.
