This morning October 16, officers from Calamvale Police Station and the Centenary Crime Prevention Unit joined Volunteers in Policing (VIPs) and Police Liaison Officers in hosting a Coffee with a Cop event at Col Bennett Park in Algester.
At Coffee with a Cop events, officers are on hand to answer questions and discuss local policing issues which directly effect the community.
Coffee with a Cop is your chance to ask any burning questions you have of police as well as meet some friendly faces.
During the Calamvale Coffee with a Cop, officers and VIPs were also available to fit one way screws to number plates.
By having one way screws fitted to your number plates, you can reduce your risk of falling victim to number plate theft. The fitting of one way screws is a free service that the QPS officers offer so next time you are out and about, make sure you take your local officers up on it!
Despite the rain, officers enjoyed meeting with the local community and look forward to continuing their engagement within the community through events such as Coffee with a Cop.
Your local police enjoy speaking with you about crime prevention and general safety, so always give them a wave when you see them out and about!
If you would like to attend a Coffee with a Cop event, get in touch with your local station and find out where and when it will be!
