Coffee with a Cop at Karma’sOfficers with the Cullman Police Department greeted a steady stream of locals early Saturday at Karma’s Coffee House for the department’s Coffee with a Cop meet-up, a casual, agenda-free way for police and the community they serve to keep in touch.

Saturday’s hangout took over the bar area at Karma’s for most of the morning, as Police Chief Kenny Culpepper and other local officers sat and chatted with guests about everything from college football to the tight pedestrian traffic around the 1st Avenue Warehouse District.

Before Saturday, it had been a while since the department had hosted its last session in the ongoing Coffee with a Cop series, which typically has been held at a different venue for each outing. But the department plans to schedule more of the events, which it describes as “just a chance to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the officers in your neighborhood.”
