Law enforcement in Valdosta is continuing to make efforts for better communication between themselves and the community.

Another Coffee with a Cop event was held on Thursday for community members to express any concerns they have towards police behavior or unsettling activity in their neighborhoods.

The whole purpose of Coffee with a Cop is to remove any intimidation providing a safe space for open dialogue to produce a positive outcome,” explained Patrolman Thomas Welch with the Valdosta Police Department. “We’re doing this for everybody. This is not  just for law enforcement or just to make us look good, we want the community to know that we’re here for them.”

Coffee with a Cop is held once every few months at a selected McDonald’s.
