Harvest Cafe opened its doors for Coffee with a Cop led by the Hume Police District.
According to Goulburn Officer in Charge John Sheehan, the morning went “very well”.
“We were very happy people could come and talk to us about the issues they were having,” he said.
“People brought community matters to our attention, things we as police might not always think about.”
Seven officers from senior staff were at the cafe, and 40 free coffees were served between 9.30am and 11am on Tuesday morning.
One take away for Inspector Sheehan was the lack support networks among elderly residents – something he has said he will think more about in the future.
This initiative was a statewide annual event held across 58 Police Area Commands.
