Several customers at the Tifton Starbucks were surprised when they pulled up to the drive-thru window and were greeted by local law enforcement on Feb. 18.
The officers were participating in Coffee with a Cop, which is an annual event that allows the community to meet and talk with local LEOs over coffee.
Members of the Tifton Police Department, Tift County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol Post 13 were at the coffee shop for the event.
Several of the officers were allowed behind the counter and shown how to make beverages, while their fellow officers chatted with community members and fellow officers from other organizations.
Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by the United States Department of Justice. Similar events took place across the country to advance and improve community policing by improving the relationships between police officers and community members.
