On Thursday, September 12 Westfield Chermside hosted ‘Coffee With A Cop’ at Café 214.

There was a huge turn out of police from Boondall Police Station, Gateway Crime Prevention Office, the Vulnerable Persons Unit, Crime Stoppers, Police Liaison Officers, and our Volunteers in Policing.

It was a great opportunity for the public to talk one-on-one to police about any issues or concerns they had.

Many coffees were shared amongst conversations regarding vehicle and home security, neighbourhood disputes, scams, internet safety and other personal issues that members of the public wished to talk to the police about.

QPS also conducted a ‘Lock It Or Lose It‘ patrols in the underground carparks, leaving leaflets advising the vehicle owners if their vehicles had been left secured, or if any valuables were visible.

Police were extremely happy to report that all vehicles were left locked and secured, although there were many cars that had valuables visible form the outside of the car. For more information on vehicle security click here.

The next ‘Coffee With A Cop’ at Westfield Chermside is scheduled for Thursday, November 14 from 10am-12pm.

However, if you can’t wait until then, we have another ‘Coffee With A Cop’ event happening at Stafford  on Friday, September 13 from 9-11am at Paddock Expresso at Stafford.

And lastly, the police from Gateway Patrol Group, and Boondall Police station would like to thank and wish well Claire, the security Manager at Westfield, who is about to leave on maternity leave.

Claire has been instrumental in creating a strong and great relationship between QPS and Westfield Chermside. All the best for your maternity leave Claire, from QPS!
