An Ellendale Police Department community event has led to the arrest of a Maryland fugitive.

Ellendale Police Department received information at its Coffee with a Cop event May 26 that a wanted female may be residing at 108 Main St. in Ellendale.

At 9:11 p.m., June 1, officers observed a woman walking on Main Street matching the description given to them at the event. Police positively identified her with a portable hand-held fingerprint scanner.

Lonnence M. Conway, 21, was wanted by the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office on a bench warrant for failure to appear and violation of probation for three counts of forgery, three counts of theft less than $1,000, two counts of issuing a false document, one count of theft-scheme less than $1,000, and one count of attempted theft less than $1,000.

Ellendale Police charged Conway as a fugitive from another state. She was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 in Georgetown, where she waived extradition, and was turned over to the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office.
