Chicopee Police Officer Mike Wilk continued the popular “Coffee with a Cop” informal talks with the public Saturday morning.

Wilk spent the morning at the Chick-Fil-A restaurant on Memorial Drive, speaking with residents about their concerns.

He also provided goggles to simulate the experience of driving under the influence. This has become a popular education tool, used to impress young people with the dangers of driving drunk or high on drugs.

15-year-old Connor Ashley of Chicopee was quick to get the message. “It’s fair to say I’m never going to drive drunk because I don’t need to kill other people,” said Ashley.

Another purpose of the monthly “Coffee with a Cop” conversations is for Officer Wilk to find out what’s on the minds of Chicopee residents and how the police can do a better job.
